Six keen members enjoyed the first days skiing on Raise and with the help of some Christmas cheer Gluwien and mince pies. A good day was enjoyed with narrow runs by the fencing but good firm snow.

Hopefully the weather will calm down and we can then start a good ski.

Saturday 9th November

4 members and 1 guest set off in fine conditions to take up the new invertor for the tow electric's.

The weather was fine until the chimney, where it started to snow giving a light covering on Raise

There is still not enough for Skiing yet hopefully this is the start of good things to come!!.

We also took details off the old invertor for Terry to look at so he can fit the new one. We are also looking at the motor on top of the departure in case we have to replace it.

Many thanks to Stuart Sharpe, George Harris, James Blacow for caring it up. Thanks also Bernie for loading and bring it up to the mines and guiding us. It is sometimes forgotten that he brings and loads the items needed in in his car!!.

The clubs committee must be doing a good job for the club, as the turn out for the meeting was very poor.

The election of the officers and committee took place.

Richard Leafe was elected as our new President. Thanks were made to Gerard for all his hard work on behalf of the club and giving us 3 great years of Snow!!

We are now having to purchasing a new variable speed invertor to replace the existing one which is about to fail at some time soon, this supplies the electric to the tow.  This will be fitted hopefully before the snow comes, as well as the new web cams.

Bring on the Snow

This is what you call dedication to the club.
Bernie and Terry were up raise today to fix the electric problem on the control box for the tow. After 10hrs of head scratching it was finally fixed. We can now run the tow but the operators will need some new instruction's on its use.
Many thanks to them both.

The Work party will go ahead on Sunday. Cleaning and greasing the hangers. Also some maintainance jobs to do.Then we will be ready for the snow bring it on!!
