Bernie Warriner has been awarded the British Empire Medal for services to Lake District skiing in the New Year's honours list.
Club president Richard Leafe comments: “I'm sure all members will wish to join me in congratulating Bernie on this honour. He has been a club member for over 40 years and our Ski Tow Officer for the last 11 years.
“I know Bernie considers this an honour for the club and all who have contributed so much. But it is Bernie's consistent and huge contribution over many years that makes this award so well deserved for Bernie.”
Master builder Bernie, who led the construction of the Powder Room, Tow Hut and Members’ Hut, has thanked club members who have helped with build and maintenance via our Facebook page.
Bernie is currently recovering from illness. We all hope to see him up Raise again soon. It won't be long before that famous yellow jacket is making its way to Buckingham Palace!
