Snow-Forecast

Forecasts for ski resorts worldwide including Raise.

Stybarrow Dodd - Met Office

Forecasts for our neighbouring fell to the north - usually more accurate but not so readily decipherable as Snow-Forecast. Add a degree or two Celsius for our tow (which is lower).

Lake District Mountain Weather - Met Office

All you need to make sensible and safe decisions
before going onto the fells. The site merges the Met Office's own data for different heights with the Weatherline fell-top assessors' report to spell out what the numbers all mean in practical terms. An excellent one-stop shop, particularly before you come up for the first time.

Mountain Weather Information Service

Includes the whole of Cumbria, and also the western Pennines North from Ingleborough.

Weatherline

Each year, usually between December and March, fell-top assessors walk to the top of Helvellyn or nearby peaks to take photos and report on ground conditions.

Kirkstone Pass

To see if you can get through! If it looks dodgy go to Glenridding via Penrith or try Thirlmere to the west of Raise, parking at Stanah where the A591 and B5322 meet.

English ski 'resorts'...!
